This week, Wacker Chemie AG announced a new round of expansion in its industrial layout in the Asian market, adding two dedicated silicone production facilities in Tsukuba, Japan and Bucheon, South Korea. The massive cost of this capacity expansion plan demonstrates Wacker's high expectations and firm layout for the future development of the Asian market.
Christian Kirsten, director and head of the organic silicon business at Wacker, delivered a speech at the commissioning ceremony: "Wacker's new factories in Japan and South Korea mark a solid step forward for us in the field of high-quality organic silicon solutions. This is not only a positive response to current market demand, but also a keen insight into future market trends
The Tsukuba factory will focus on the automotive industry, especially in the field of electric vehicles, by introducing advanced production lines for organic silicon thermal interface materials (TIM). These high-performance materials, with their excellent thermal conductivity, have become the core components of electric vehicle thermal management systems. At the same time, they are widely used in the electronics industry, providing strong guarantees for improving the heat dissipation efficiency of electronic devices. The commissioning of the Wacker Tsukuba plant will strongly promote the rapid development of the Asian electric vehicle market and meet the urgent demand for high-end silicone materials in the market.
In Zhenchuan, South Korea, Wacker further strengthened its leading position in the field of silicone sealants. Since 2010, the Zhenchuan factory has been committed to producing silicone sealants for the construction industry, gradually expanding to the production of specialized silicone, liquid silicone rubber, and silicone elastomers for the automotive and electrical industries. Faced with the continuous growth of demand for silicone sealants in the Asian market, the expansion of Wacker will significantly increase the production capacity of its Zhenchuan factory, ensuring that it can continue to meet market demand and consolidate its position as the leading silicone sealant production base in Asia.
Angela W ö rl, Director and Head of Business for Asia at Wacker, said, "The Asian market has become an important pillar of Wacker's global business. The launch of the new facility is not only a direct reflection of Wacker's corporate strategy, but also a deepening of our commitment to Asian customers. We will continue to strengthen our cooperation and communication with Asian customers, and jointly promote innovation and development in the silicone industry
The implementation of this capacity expansion plan not only consolidates Wacker's market position in the field of organosilicon, but also provides more diversified and high-quality organosilicon solutions for global customers. In the future, Wacker will continue to deeply cultivate the Asian market, promote technological innovation and market expansion, work together with partners to write a new chapter in the silicone industry, and contribute to the prosperity and development of the Asian and even global markets.
