Wacker Chemie AG announced this week that its strategic layout in the Asian market has undergone a new round of upgrades, adding two dedicated silicone production facilities in Tsukuba, Japan and Bucheon, South Korea. The huge cost of this capacity expansion plan demonstrates Wacker's firm confidence and deep layout for the future development of the Asian market.
Christian Kirsten, director and head of the organic silicon business at Wacker, said at the launch ceremony, "Wacker's new factories in Japan and South Korea mark an important step for us in the field of high-quality organic silicon solutions. This is not only a timely response to current market demand, but also a precise prediction of future market trends
The Tsukuba factory will focus on the automotive industry, especially in the field of electric vehicles, by introducing advanced production lines for organic silicon thermal interface materials (TIM). These high-performance materials, with their excellent thermal conductivity, have become key components of electric vehicle thermal management systems. At the same time, they are widely used in the electronics industry, providing strong support for improving the heat dissipation efficiency of electronic devices. The commissioning of the Wacker Tsukuba factory will strongly promote the rapid development of the Asian electric vehicle market.
In Zhenchuan, South Korea, Wacker further strengthened its leading position in the field of silicone sealants. Since 2010, the Zhenchuan factory has been committed to producing silicone sealants for the construction industry, gradually expanding to the production of specialized silicone, liquid silicone rubber, and silicone elastomers for the automotive and electrical industries. Faced with the continuous growth in demand for silicone sealants in the Asian market, the expansion of Wacker will significantly increase the production capacity of its Zhenchuan factory, ensuring that it can continue to meet market demand.
Angela W ö rl, Director and Head of Business for Asia at Wacker, stated, "The Asian market has become an important part of Wacker's global business. The launch of new facilities is not only a direct reflection of Wacker's corporate strategy, but also a deepening of our commitment to Asian customers. We will continue to strengthen cooperation and communication with Asian customers, and jointly promote innovation and development in the silicone industry
The implementation of this capacity expansion plan not only consolidates Wacker's market position in the field of organosilicon, but also provides more diversified and high-quality organosilicon solutions for global customers. In the future, Wacker will continue to deeply cultivate the Asian market, promote technological innovation and market expansion, and work together with partners to create a new era in the silicone industry.
