Today, the domestic market price of organic silicon DMC has decreased

Hits: 384 img

Today, the domestic organic silicon DMC market showed a downward trend in prices, with the average market price dropping to 12965 yuan/ton, a decrease of 51 yuan/ton compared to the previous trading day. Faced with market pressure, most individual manufacturers have adopted a low shipment strategy in order to gain a competitive advantage.
In terms of downstream markets, bearish sentiment remains strong, resulting in most companies only maintaining essential replenishment, and the overall trading activity in the market has not shown a significant increase. This trend reflects the market's cautious attitude towards future price trends.
On the raw material side, the price of silicon metal remains stable but slightly weak. On the supply side, as the operating load increases, the market supply pressure gradually increases. On the demand side, the model of on-demand replenishment continues, and the trading atmosphere is relatively flat, failing to inject more vitality into the market.
Eken receives EU funding to promote carbon cycle silicon production technology
At the same time, good news came from the international silicon materials field. Eken Company has successfully received a funding of 1.8 million euros (approximately 13.58 million yuan) from the European Union to promote its pioneering carbon cycle silicon production technology (Sicalo) ® project The project aims to achieve zero carbon dioxide emissions in the silicon production process, which is of great significance for environmental protection.
At Kristiansand Technology Park in Norway, Eken has partnered with the Norwegian Institute of Technology and Industry and the Norwegian Research Centre (NORCE) to complete Sicalo ® The laboratory trial phase of the project is about to enter the second phase, where comprehensive pilot testing will be conducted on all aspects of the production process. By capturing the carbon emitted during the silicon production process and recycling it as a reducing agent in the metal silicon production process, this project is expected to achieve zero direct carbon dioxide emissions.
Since its launch in 2021, Sicalo ® The project has received support from the Norwegian Research Council, with a funding period from 2022 to 2024. Silicon materials are widely used in fields such as electric vehicles, solar cells, smartphones, and wind turbines, but traditional production processes emit large amounts of greenhouse gases. Therefore, Eken's groundbreaking research is expected to bring significant changes to the field of silicon metal production.
In addition, Eken plans to collaborate with other partners to expand this technology to other metal production fields, promoting zero carbon dioxide emissions in the production process of silicon and manganese alloys. It is expected that if this technology can be fully applied in the production of silicon and manganese in Europe, it will reduce 33 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually by 2050, making a positive contribution to addressing global climate change.
