(August 3, 2026) Global daily chemical and oral care industries usher in centralized autumn raw material procurement on August 3, pushing up orders for high-purity food-grade and cosmetic-grade white carbon black remarkably. For decades, high-end silica used in toothpaste abrasives, cosmetic oil-control fillers and pharmaceutical excipients has long relied heavily on European and Japanese imports, while Chinese silica manufacturers represented by IOTA Silicone are continuously breaking technical barriers, accelerating import substitution and steadily grabbing global market share of fine silica products.
Latest industrial survey data released this morning shows that the market demand for daily chemical dedicated silica maintains rapid growth. High-purity precipitated silica serves as mild abrasives for mid-to-high-end toothpaste, effectively cleaning tooth surface stains without damaging enamel; ultrafine hydrophobic fumed silica is widely added to loose powder, sunscreen and foundation, which can absorb excess skin oil, improve powder smoothness and extend makeup staying power. In the first seven months of 2026, the global consumption of cosmetic-grade silica increased by 11.2% year-on-year, and Asian cosmetic brands expanded production significantly, bringing a large number of stable long-term orders to domestic silica manufacturers.
IOTA Silicone officially released two batches of upgraded daily chemical-grade white carbon black on August 3. After deep purification treatment, heavy metal residue, soluble salt and harmful impurity indicators of the new products meet international FDA and European cosmetic safety certification standards, fully reaching the quality level of imported premium silica. The new toothpaste abrasive silica features moderate hardness and uniform particle size; cosmetic hydrophobic silica has excellent dispersion and oil absorption performance. The company revealed that these two products have passed sample inspection from many well-known domestic and international oral care and beauty brands, and mass delivery will be arranged starting mid-August. At present, the enterprise’s daily chemical silica production line has expanded its annual output to 12,000 tons, and it plans to build a special fine silica purification workshop within this year to further expand supply capacity.
In the international market, European traditional silica suppliers have raised product prices continuously due to rising environmental governance costs, which greatly weakens their price competitiveness. Many beauty and daily chemical manufacturers in Southeast Asia, Australia and Latin America have gradually shifted procurement channels to qualified Chinese manufacturers. Statistics show that China’s exports of cosmetic-grade silica rose 21% month-on-month in July, and the growth momentum is expected to continue in August and September. On the contrary, low-purity ordinary silica used in low-cost daily chemical products faces fierce price competition, and many small manufacturers are forced to cut profits to maintain sales volume.
Industry analysts commented that the daily chemical track has become one of the most stable emerging growth points of the white carbon black industry. In the next two years, domestic high-purity fine silica will further squeeze the living space of imported products, and the market share of Chinese functional silica in the global daily chemical field is expected to rise from 55% to nearly 70%. As global residents pay more attention to raw material safety, manufacturers with strict impurity control and complete international certification will gain long-term pricing advantages, while low-quality non-certified silica products will be gradually eliminated by mainstream downstream brands. In addition, medical auxiliary silica used in sustained-release medicine capsules also shows incremental demand, which will bring new expansion directions for leading silica enterprises.
