Recently, specialty chemical company Evonik announced the integration of its infrastructure services business located in the Mal and Veselin chemical parks, forming a new independent company - SYNEQT GmbH. The new company will officially commence operations on January 1, 2026. With approximately 3500 employees and an annual revenue of 1.8 billion euros, it will become one of the largest service providers in the process industry sector in North Rhine Westphalia, Germany, and rank among the top in the German industry.
SYNEQT will initially operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Evonik. In the future, investors may be introduced to participate and provide further funding for business growth, but various options are still being evaluated.
This integration will merge Winchuang's two strongest infrastructure units in the Rhine and Ruhr regions into one. SYNEQT brings together a wide range of professional knowledge and experience, covering comprehensive services required for chemical plants and other process industries, including energy supply, pipeline construction and operation, facility and factory safety management, technical services, waste disposal, port operations, factory logistics, fire protection, as well as factory security and cafeteria operations. SYNEQT management spokesperson Thomas Basten said, "We have all the qualifications and foundations to develop the park into a climate neutral, digitally connected, and highly flexible industrial ecosystem in the long term, providing modular, customized assets, closed material recycling, and intelligent services. In the future, we will be able to fully focus on these core tasks, thereby retaining existing customers and attracting new customers in the long term." Evonik has reached a final agreement with employee representatives that the employment terms for employees transitioning to SYNEQT will not change in principle.
