In the photovoltaic industry, products such as organic silicon encapsulation adhesives and anti reflective coatings effectively improve the conversion efficiency and service life of photovoltaic modules; In the field of lithium batteries, organic silicon, as a solid electrolyte, sealing material, and thermal conductive medium, significantly enhances the safety and thermal management performance of batteries. According to industry data, the demand for organic silicon in the new energy sector contributed over 20% of the consumption increase in 2024, becoming the core driving force for industry growth.
Breakthrough in high-end healthcare industry, accelerated domestic substitution
With the breakthrough of biocompatibility technology, the application of organosilicon in the medical and health field is extending from traditional catheter and implant device coatings to high-end fields. The localization rate of medical grade silicone rubber, bioactive organosilicon and other products has significantly increased. By 2024, the proportion of high-end medical applications has reached 8%, and the import substitution rate has exceeded 60%. For example, the application of silicone materials in high-end medical devices such as heart stents and artificial joints not only improves product safety and durability, but also reduces medical costs.

On June 18, 2025, the 3rd Organic Silicon Technology and Application Innovation Forum was held in Shanghai, focusing on technological breakthroughs in "silicon-based new energy+silicon-based new materials" and exploring the application of cutting-edge fields such as organic silicon thermal conductivity materials and interface functional materials. At the same time, the industry has promoted a 35% reduction in energy consumption and an increase in the comprehensive utilization rate of by-products to 98% through the integrated circular economy model of "coal, electricity, and silicon", forming a preliminary green manufacturing system.

Despite the broad prospects of the silicone industry, challenges such as overcapacity in the mid to low end, trade barriers, and fluctuations in raw material prices still exist. Leading enterprises such as Hesheng Silicon Industry and Xin'an Shares continue to enhance their international competitiveness through full industry chain layout and technological iteration. For example, Hesheng Silicon Industry has become the world's largest single unit organic silicon producer with its "coal electricity silicon" integrated model. Its Xinjiang Central Photovoltaic Integrated Industrial Park project has achieved mass production, further consolidating its leading position in the industry.
In the future, with the rapid development of emerging industries such as new energy, 5G, and ultra-high voltage, the application scenarios of organic silicon materials will continue to expand, and functional and high-end products will become the main force of industry growth.
