On December 3, Dow Europe issued a notice with immediate effect of force majeure of emeai polyols containing EO, saying that it was beyond reasonable control. Dow Germany and its subsidiaries in Europe declare that all polyether polyol products containing ethylene oxide (EO) are force majeure effective immediately, and the corresponding products are from Dow's polyol plant in tyrnep, the Netherlands. The production of EO was interrupted due to mechanical failure of relevant devices, and then the Dow factory in tyrnep, the Netherlands, declared force majeure.

Dow said that this situation was due to the unforeseen accident of Dow's cracking unit in tyrnep, which led to further unplanned production reduction of Dow's ethylene, which was beyond Dow's reasonable control. This interrupted EO's supply to polyol production units and affected the production of polyol products containing EO.
